In a busy hospital in Hebron, doctors and nurses are pleased to receive a donation from PFP which will help ease the pain of their patients and make their hospital stay less stressful.

The donation includes an item many of us may not think about very much.  It's not particularly high-tech.  We more often than not take it for granted at our hospitals in the US.  It's not something that only incredibly advanced hospitals have and we all actually have some varying kind of it in our homes. From the Field: West Bank Profile: Yousef, 13 year old burn victim     Yousef, a 13 year old boy from Palestine, was severely burned on both his hands and legs by fire.  In Palestine, he received surgery for his burns and was then admitted to the burn unit at Rafedia Hospital where medical burn care protocols have just recently been developed.  Post-surgery, he was barely able to walk due to the severity of his burns.  His father was worried that he would lose complete use of both his legs and his hands.     Mohannad Mansoor, a physical therapist at Rafedia... read more

We finished our findal day by reviewing the pressure garment sewing services at the hospital. We discussed the options for management and assessment to fabricate the garments and reviewed with the therapists a simple and effective way to fabricate a hand pressure garment.

Today was the last day of our successful training mission in the Palestine. Yesterday, the local team of therapists completed the three-day face mask fabrication workshop with great success. Everyone worked together and produced five quality high-temperature transparent face masks.

The second day of the mission was another success! The day began over delicious local coffee with the local team. The supplies needed for the face-mask workshop were gathered by members of both the Physicians for Peace and the Rafidi hospital teams; we had the opportunity to meet some very generous local hospital employees who helped us locate some difficult-to-find supplies.
