What We Do

A woman walking for the first time on her new prosthesis…a child receiving a burn treatment not previously available in his country…a newborn life saved…these are some of the many ways we know that our work matters. But we also recognize that it is not enough to do our job well. The need is too great. Our definition of success is to do the absolute most we can with every resource we have.
Since 1989, Physicians for Peace has delivered education, training, and millions of dollars in medical supplies and equipment to healthcare teams in underserved regions. We’ve developed three broad strategies, which serve as the backbone of our outreach efforts. When combined, these strategies create an adaptable model that lets us meet targeted training needs across medical specialties.

We train and educate healthcare professionals through integrated theoretical and hands-on learning experiences.	We promote and mobilize an international network to share best practices for enhanced care.	We partner with the healthcare workforce to improve systems and develop the resources needed to work effectively.
