Longtime Physicians for Peace volunteer educator Michael Serghiou has received one of the American Burn Association's highest honors.
At its recent annual meeting held in Dallas, the renowned burn-care organization named Michael the recipient of its Curtis P. Artz Distinguished Service Award for outstanding contributions in burn care. The ABA grants this honor each year to a non-physician medical professional.
A clinical care specialist who recently served as interim head of the International Society for Burns Injuries, Michael has volunteered with Physicians for Peace in several countries for more than 15 years. His expertise is matched only by his passion for teaching and helping others.
